☀️ It is a GOOD morning indeed! Y’all know I love to uplift Black women and girls all day every day, so you can imagine how much I’ve been looking forward to this… Today @blackgirlfreedomfund kicks off #BlackGirlFreedomWeek!! Today begins a week-long celebration of Black girls* (*Black cis and trans girls, Black gender expansive youth, and Black femmes) and what is possible when we invest abundantly in their dreams, their power, and their leadership, and work together to co-create a future where they are safe, free, and thriving. The team at @blackgirlfreedomfund chose this week during Black History Month in honor of Toni Morrison and Audre Lorde’s birthdays. There are lots of ways to participate in the week’s events by either watching on our website or their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram page.
SWIPE for all handles and some upcoming event details and join us!!! Today’s conversations feature the brilliant, inspiring voices of the multi-talented @rashidajones, Congresswoman @ayannapressley, activist @naomiwadler, and Grantmakers for Girls of Color Founder @monique.w.morris!
More from BGFF: 🎨 We’d love for you to share your ideas, stories and art inspired by this week’s themes of freedom, safety, justice, joy, wellness and dreams. Make sure to tag us and include #BlackGirlFreedomWeek in your post so we can uplift it! ⠀

Remember summer?
Y’all. It’s been a minute. And I know it may seem like I say this a lot… but I really, really, really mean it— you should watch tonight. Because I damn near fell off my chair at the table read. And if you’re a fan, I promise you won’t want to hear about it on the socials. So tune in. Because we’re back after what seems like a million years. And it’s some damn good tv. xoxoxo
mood.
#bts @baremagazine… more soon.

In the wake of the horrifying act of domestic terrorism in Atlanta this week, I am reminded of the insidious nature of racism, how no group of POC are untouched by it, and that we need to align our efforts into a single struggle for our collective freedom. I stand with my AAPI brothers, sisters and non-binary fam*, mourn with them, send my love and offer support. I also want take this moment to remember the context and history of anti-Asian racism in this country, with the hope that understanding the source of a problem can plant the seed of a solution. Maybe it’s news to you, or maybe it resonates as disturbingly similar to the systematic exclusion and oppression of other groups in this country. Knowing the struggles that have come before helps prepare us for what we’re up against now, so we can, together #stopasianhate. (Thanks to @hybridmichael for the graphics 🙏🏾) (*edited for clarity)

Whew this hits today. Wrapping up a project today, the attendant terror of sharing it weighing heavily, and had to scrawl on my mirror as a reminder, “Don’t let perfection be the enemy of good.” (Anyone know who said that?) Then I came across this (thanks @erfinchie), and the synchronicity is not lost on me. Who else can relate?
🤲🏽🌸
