San Francisco police were called to the Pacific Heights neighborhood because a person of color was writing #BlackLivesMatter in chalk on a house. The caller, a white lady, was claimed the man didn’t own the house and was therefore vandalizing property. She called the cops, because of chalk art! The thing is, the man using the chalk DOES own the house, like he tells her in a cell phone video you can look up. So why would the caller immediately assume he didn’t own the house? Even if he didn’t… the police? For chalk? Officers did arrive and didn’t even get out of the car because they knew how bogus the call was. Meanwhile at our house we’ve been writing various #BLM messages (👆) in chalk on our driveway for at least two weeks in a heavily trafficked walking neighborhood and not one person has said anything… what do we call that everyone?
