I used to measure my self-worth based on reassurance, recognition, feedback and acceptance of me by others. I basically gave my power away. And when the love was gone, I was broken. It’s been a long journey ever since and the lesson I learned is that I should never lend the key to my happiness to others. Love comes from within, independently and unconditionally regardless of what you might think of me, which is out of my control. ⁠
