Steven Seagal Instagram – I took a break from humanitarian work in Moscow to visit the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, where I met with President Nicolas Maduro and was treated to a martial arts presentation by local youth. Afterwards I accompanied governmental officials for a visit to rain forest settlements in and around the Canaima National Park, where I was privileged to meet with tribal elders from the indigenous Pemon people to discuss the problems of habitat protection and illegal mining. My visit attracted attention to the lifestyle of the Pemon tribe and the rich cultural heritage that has developed over centuries. In meetings with local shamans, I emphasized my interest in working with public and private sector entities to improve living conditions for the Pemon and help develop sustainable economic models. Shaman Ato thanked me for my words of support and for the visit in general, which highlighted the needs of Venezuela’s rainforest indigenous community. It was an honor to be received by the Pemon people with such warmth and dignity.
