I took a break from humanitarian work in Moscow to visit the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, where I met with President Nicolas Maduro and was treated to a martial arts presentation by local youth. Afterwards I accompanied governmental officials for a visit to rain forest settlements in and around the Canaima National Park, where I was privileged to meet with tribal elders from the indigenous Pemon people to discuss the problems of habitat protection and illegal mining. My visit attracted attention to the lifestyle of the Pemon tribe and the rich cultural heritage that has developed over centuries. In meetings with local shamans, I emphasized my interest in working with public and private sector entities to improve living conditions for the Pemon and help develop sustainable economic models. Shaman Ato thanked me for my words of support and for the visit in general, which highlighted the needs of Venezuela’s rainforest indigenous community. It was an honor to be received by the Pemon people with such warmth and dignity. I am pleased to have met this noble community, and will work in the future to make their story known and to combat the factors that threaten their centuries-old lifestyle.

Happy birthday to my dear friend @officialslystallone . A wonderful man, inspiration to many but most importantly a great husband and father. Enjoy your day and continued blessings my brother. 🙏SS #stallone #stevenseagal
I did this commercial for @mountaindew a few years back. Thought I’d share it with you, I enjoyed the humor. Enjoy it my friends. 🙏 SS
Dear Worldwide Friends It was a tremendous honor for me to meet President Maduro who I think despite amazing challenges and difficult times has proven to show tremendous fortitude and deep love for his country. The support he has given me in working on some of the recent concerns having to do with the rainforest and indigenous people have been that of a true brother. https://www.instagram.com/p/COeWwhYlXE8/?igshid=ukxyhuhzfxkf
May 9 Victory day is an important day in Russia and in the former Soviet republics and their allies that commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany in 1945 and to honor and remember those who gallantly fought and gave their lives to end the Nazi Regime, Fascism and tyranny. World War II was the deadliest military conflict in history where 3 percent of the world population perished. With this dumbfounding sacrifice of 80 million lives across the world, the world became primarily free due to this indescribable bravery and loss of life. The Soviet Union suffered the biggest loss loosing 27 million people. We need to learn from history and do anything and everything in our power to make sure this never happens again. It was a tremendous honor for me and my family to have attended such an important, moving event. Love and light, Steven Seagal #victoryday #russia #america #freeworld #sacrifice #history #honor #stevenseagal #love #light #peace

Thank you @bulavina for the photo session!
Lot of people know that I started Karate and Kung-fu long before I started Aikido. As a young boy I left home at 15 and went to work as a dishwasher in a restaurant. In that restaurant there was an old Japanese man who cooked there who used to sometimes watch the way I would wash and move dishes and glasses. Once I asked him where he was from, he said Okinawa Japan, the motherland of Karate. Then I asked him if he knew Karate. He smiled and said Yes. Even as a child I had dabbled in karate before this, but this was my first chance to have a real teacher, where I started my long road in Karate. In Japan in the early 70’s I had gone by the ancient saying to spend more time trying to find the right teacher than the actual training in knowing that finding the right teacher is everything. I was lucky enough to find a few authentic great teachers who were real masters of a mixture of Sword, Jujitsu and Karate. Later on I became good friends with sensei Mas Oyama, who was the founder of Kyokushin Karate and I was very impressed with the realistic battle applications of the style. I had always tried to take the most effective techniques of all the arts that I had studied to combine them into my own style. When Mas Oyama sensei passed away, one of his best students Kancho Hatsuo Royama became his successor and I was very pleased and impressed with his personality, humility, and an amazing drive to keep the technique severe and real. Several years ago Kancho asked me to teach one of his karate master classes in Krasnodar. I accepted and was so happy to begin a closer relationship with him. Last time I was in Japan, I was lucky enough to spend time with Kancho and was surprised and honored to receive 7th degree black belt from him. It is my hope and prayer that the wisdom of the real masters doesn’t disintegrate as time goes on. I am hoping that these sacred arts spread throughout the world, inspiring humility, respect, discipline and the desire to help others and make the world a better place. Love and respect, Steven Seagal #kanchoroyama #kyokushinkan

Friends around the world, 22 years ago I made a very special film about passions close to my heart – saving our planet, music and exposing corruption. Friends, I had an immensely enjoyable time working with @keenenivorywayans on this film. The chemistry along with the action and comedy were great.
