Alexandra Holden Instagram – Last week I was honored to visit George Floyd Square in Minneapolis. It was chilling to be at the actual site of his murder, and an incredibly moving and enlightening experience.
It was beautiful to see the people in George Floyd Square come together to preserve the creative expressions of turmoil and hope for the future.
I had the privilege to speak with Remi Douah who is working to break the stigmatization of therapy simply by sitting in a chair overlooking an art installation and opening a dialogue. Stop by and say hi or visit www.856s.org to see how you can help.
The “Say Their Names” art installation created by Anna Barber and Conner Wright features over 100 tombstones of African Americans who have died at the hands of law enforcement. Aiyana Jones was only 7 years old. Each tombstone it’s own tragedy. They continue to add to the installation.
