Anna Brewster Instagram - Just under two weeks ago my wonderful Dad passed away at home with his family around him. He succumbed to the aggressive cancer that very quickly became too much for his body to fight. My dad was my absolute hero, but what has become apparent in the last two weeks is quite how many lives he has touched over both his teaching career but also in retirement. Dad was the deputy head at my secondary school Queensbridge school in Birmingham, and had been there for 25 years before having to take early retirement in due to a stroke. I saw first hand how respected and treasured he was as a teacher and colleague because he just really loved his job and had this wonderful skill for helping people achieve their potential. He organised Duke of Edinburgh award for the kids, taking them out of school and giving them opportunities to push themselves out of the classroom and gain invaluable skills that growing up in inner city Birmingham they wouldn't have necessarily had. As a family and having spoken to the head at QB we would like to set up a "Roger Brewster Memorial Fund" to keep DofE open to the kids at Queensbridge and especially kids who may not be able to afford to take part in these activities, arguably the ones who need it the most. Instead of sending flowers we would ask if you want to to please donate to this charity so that his memory can live on at the school he dedicated so much of his life to. ❤️ Link in Bio
