Mother Teresa once said, “Peace begins when the hungry are fed.”
I was truly humbled and inspired to visit Mumbai @rotibankfdn today, which is run by former Mumbai police commissioner Mr. D Sivanandan. Roti Bank has prepared and distributed meals to millions of hungry people till date, even during the pandemic.
They are the perfect example of what #kindnessbrigade aspires to do and I am honored to be of help to them during these times.

My team and I at the Yolo Foundation visited @thefelinefoundation and it opened our eyes to the plethora of issues faced by the people trying to help street cats and strays. The most notable being stigma around sterilisation.
Even with all these problems, it was heartwarming to witness the dedication with which the volunteers and the doctors continues with their work. They have treated so many animals till date and have created a safe home for them. They are what one can truly call a #kindnessbrigade.
It fills me with joy to share their #storiesofkindness with the world.

We all miss our childhood days and how we used to go out and play, visit cousins and go on trips with Family.
Mahek Vasa, just like all of us, missed the same but always wanted to do something for the kids who are not privileged enough. Hence, during this lockdown, she took the initiative to connect with a few Orphanages and organized dance sessions, and had other fun activities via video calls. Mahek, during these tough times, managed to lift the spirits of these little angels and has pledged to keep doing her part.
She believes that every soul should cherish their childhood and the privileged ones like us should contribute in any way possible.

An injured dog used to roam around the apartment of Akash Soni in Gurgaon. He and his roommate fed him food one day as he seemed to be weak and hungry and decided to take care of him.
They prepared him a bed in the lobby of their building, a personal food bowl that was filled with a lot of love and food and some toys to play with.
They would play with him and go on long walks. He was a stress reliever for both of them and quickly became part of their family and friend to our friends. His health improved too over the time he was with them.
P.S- They named him Majnu because they knew a Laila, a female dog in their neighborhood.
Since then he strongly believes that Until one has loved an animal, a part of your soul remains un awakened.

India saw a country wide shortage of medicines during the Pandemic.
After seeing their near and dear one’s suffering from it, Etisha and her parents decided to do something about it so that other people don’t have to suffer the same.
This “Power couple” took it upon themselves to do their bit in contributing towards helping people suffering from the shortage of life-saving drugs in the current pandemic.
They started procuring and distributing medicines by collecting the unused medicines from the recovered patients, testing their authenticity and giving them to the ones in need which helped save several lives.
They strongly believe that wherever there is a human in need there is an opportunity for everyone to share a helping hand.

In these tough times, when there is much loss of life and hope around,
Simran and Dushyant came up with the idea of reinstating the belief and faith with the help of stories and poetry.
The idea began with setting up a virtual show of all those warriors, who have been locked inside the home, fighting with Covid-19
and were fed up with negativity on the web.
The show was attended by people, who were recovering and needed the right spirit and support of others who were sailing in the same boat.
That one hour was filled with laughter, metaphors, and immense joy and love. This little act of kindness brought a huge smile on all those heroes who thought there can’t be any more sunshine in their lives. It is always said ” jaha na phuche ravi , waha pahuche kavi “.
The second edition of the show in collaboration with “Baithak and Beyond” and ” Arcadia” is going to have many more warriors and donations will be handed over to ” The Khalsa Aid Foundation” which is working on the shortage of oxygen supplies for the country.

A young MBA student from NMIMS started to feed 10 people on the first day of his initiative and within 20 days, he has served more than 1000+ people.
Along with food, he experimented to bring in sweets on the eve of Mahavir Jayanti.
To his surprise, the kids were so excited to get sweets, and seeing that happiness on the kids made his day.
Since then he decided to bring a different sweet every day.
After several rounds of sweets, the kids had decided on their favorite one.
Bhaiya, Woh white wala lana ha ! Yes, it was the Ras Gulla.
Every day 100+ people eagerly wait for him at the Juhu bus depot at 8 pm.
He has been able to help many in need and the joy he receives keeps him going.
For him, the joy in the eyes of the kids is indescribable. With the constant support he has received through his Instagram, he plans to make this big and feed over 1000 people a day.
His aim is to start his own NGO and work towards this cause full-time.
