Syria is not safe. But Aya has just been told by the Danish government to go back.⁣

Aya is one of at least 380 Syrian refugees in Denmark who has been told to return to Syria, after the government decided that Damascus and its surrounding area are safe for refugees to return. ⁣
⁣
The fact is, no part of Syria is safe to return to. To this day the regime continues to kill, detain, and torture thousands of civilians. ⁣
⁣
By stripping Syrian refugees of protection, Denmark is tearing families apart and putting hundreds of people at risk – people who have already fled a brutal war and survived unimaginable human rights abuses.⁣
