First night back in the big smoke and I basked in the privilege of catching up with the funniest humans in Australia. I had the recent pleasure of performing with and being directed by these stalwarts as the lead in their upcoming audio comedy SLUSHY – 2 of my most joyous working weeks. They trusted me with their hilarious script and affirmed my life long proclamation that I too am a very funny lady. Also gave me some solid mates in, well, themselves. I loved spending time with you in Melbourne last year after so long. I know one of your secret joys is talking to our wonderful South Asian cabbies about my films that they have seen… but I have to admit, one of my joys is discovering your ex students peppered around every corner of Melbourne and being discovered once again as ‘Dr Nalin Sharda’s daughter?!’

Yesterday I found this doorway. It was the same doorway in front of which I had taken one of my favourite photos when I first visited Toronto in 2016. Then, the wall was bright blue… the sun shone on my face as I smiled at the passers by who, like me, were out for a Saturday brunch. Yesterday, the sense of loss and neglect was palpable as I gazed at the under layers of a set of bricks that had once seemed so optimistic. The vicissitudes of this ride are getting real.
