This is one of my favourite scenes from @ardaaskaraan because (to me) it carries the soul of the entire film and even though it’s been directed and we were all just performing for a camera; I can only remember how real my tears and emotions were whilst we were filming it. I was not okay and something personal was weighing heavy on my heart. Thankfully it was an emotional scene and I got to pour my scattered self into it and call it art. But what do we do when it’s not an emotional scene and we have to smile, laugh and appear as though we’ve got it together and everything is okay? 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽
This week it’s Mental Health Awareness Week and as an actor I know what it’s like to act up for the cameras as if everything’s OK. But this is a week to acknowledge and share that sometimes everything’s not OK and during those harder, darker times we need to talk about our problems, speak to trusted friends, family members, teachers, colleagues when we’re not feeling our best. It’s been a hard year for us all, we may have lost loved ones or friends, and the lockdowns may have affected our mental health in a number of different ways without even realising. But we don’t always have to act tough or pretend on social media that we’re having a great time through it all when actually we might not be. #DontActTough

Posted @withregram • @bollynush I’ve had this clip on my phone since January but I couldn’t post it back then because I was studying -more like stressing- for my exams and then I completely forgot. So I’m posting it now.
This scene in particular is what has stayed with me. Aarya and Deva were once best friends. They knew everything about each other and even applied to the same colleges together. But Aarya applied for a design school also and didn’t tell Deva because she didn’t think she would get in, but she did. And than Aarya got stuck again in a situation. She had to choose between her best friend’s wedding and her future career. She obviously chose her career. Deva hasn’t spoken to her ever since. She is mad at her as anyone would be but I think she should’ve understand Aarya’s position. And she has apologized thousands of times for what she did. Sometimes you need to think about yourself, to choose yourself before others and it’s okay. You might loose some people in the meantime but at least there won’t be any regrets.
