So long, Season 4 🥰
This was my first time EVER playing my uke in front of anybody other than @austinsdurant and I did it on TV. Try new things. It’s scary and it’s fun and it’s okay to be imperfect.
And if it’s easier barefoot, just do it barefoot.
Love you miss you #station19 ❤️

Bullying sucks. And the best revenge is to put on your favorite outfit and keep on keeping on. Be yourself, have a lot of fun right in their faces and maybe they’ll take the hint. I support LBGTQ+ youth and LOVE THEM TO BITS. #ChooseKindness #ChooseLeotards #SpiritDay #Station19

We’ve reached the end y’all!!! And all this wouldn’t have meant anything if you guys weren’t following along and participating. That’s why our last word is COALITION! A coalition is an alliance for combined action. It’s so important for different people and groups to come together and put aside differences in order to achieve common goals and help each other to understand what each part of the whole needs. We CAN work together, listen to each other, teach each other, and accept one another’s differences. It’s meant so much to me and the entire #19for20 team that you guys have tuned in every week to participate in this project with us. THANK YOU!!!! WE LOVE YOU!!! And our last thought to leave you with is this: keep it up! Keep talking, reading, and learning. There is a community to be found here!!! You guys have engaged with us and taught me and many others so much through your participation on this platform. So I’m deputizing all of you! Who’s gonna do #20for21??? 19for20 was an idea I had because I wanted to do something- anything- to learn more and help continue the conversation about social justice and equality in our country. But these issues exist all over the world, and bringing attention to them and helping others to participate in activism and advocacy is so important. This is only the beginning.
Last thought:
Everyone knows how important this election is and how necessary it is to participate in it. Even if you’re too young to vote- you can encourage the others in your life to participate in our democracy! You have a voice and you can use it to create change. Thank you again, everyone. And special thank you to my amazing friends for putting themselves out there and helping me out for the last 19 weeks:

Our amazing @spampistefania is taking on Gerrymandering today! With visual aids! Gosh, I LOVE HER!
Gerrymandering is the manipulation of the boundaries of an electoral constituency (for example, a district) to favor a certain party.
This can happen on both sides of the aisle and is a common tool of voter suppression.
Additionally today, on Indigenous People’s Day, I’d like to remind people that one of the most vulnerable and underrepresented voting groups in this country are the original inhabitants of it. Native Americans are frequent victims of voter suppression due to attempts to exploit geographic and economic obstacles, limited transportation, rejection of tribal ID’s, refusal to adapt to non-traditional addresses sometimes used on reservations, and yes, gerrymandered districts that limit the ability of these groups to have sufficient representation in the government. We must protect the right to vote for all people, and remember that many have never had the unobstructed right to equal rights and representation. I celebrate the accomplishments, courage, and strength of Indigenous People today, and I encourage you to do the same!

Representation Matters. That’s how simple and how large this idea is. But how do we achieve meaningful representation? @jasonwinstongeorge and I think it’s through diversity AND inclusion. This is important in every workplace, every school, every governmental agency… you get the idea. We need to listen and respond to the needs of the diverse voices in our communities and give ourselves space to grow, learn, and adapt.
In our business as working actors, we think about this a TON.
We are so grateful that the LEGENDARY (oh my god, I can’t believe it!) Geena Davis and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media(@gdigm)have provided us with some incredibly useful and important information about gender equality in media, and while we focus on gender the entertainment industry here- it’s so important to consider how representation affects all of us and how we see the world and each other. Cuz’ if you can see it, you can be it. What does representation mean to you? How would you define it? Help us figure it out!!!

When we hear political commentators use the term “Dog Whistle”- what do they mean? Straightforward and honest communication from our elected leaders should be expected, and when coded and destructive information is normalized, bad shit can happen.
There’s nothing wrong with speaking specifically to certain groups, but when that communication depends on and exploits hatred, bigotry, fear and misinformation we SHOULD have a problem with it. So much interested information available below on the history of the term, and how it’s used and abused. What do you think??? #19for20

My girl @jaicyelliot came through this week! Redlining and gentrification are both housing crises that are results of the systemic racism and poverty that impacts this country. The benefits historically awarded to middle class white families have been near impossible to overcome for many minorities, and now that it’s become a kind of status symbol to move in to underserved communities- the hard earned cultural and economic independence of these neighborhoods is being threatened. How do you guys relate these two topics? Can you see a connection? Get in here and let’s talk about it!
From Jaicy:
Happy Monday!! Welcome to #19for20!! Today I get to define Redlining and Gentrification for y’all!
Please note that this discussion is rooted in a painfully still accurate American reality. These terms talk of an America where systemic poverty and systemic racism underly and impact every aspect of society.
Redlining has, since it’s use in federal government, been a tool of segregation and continued control of white people over Latinos, African Americans and other minorities.
Gentrification drains the established businesses in urban communities, displaces people and cultures.
Help me and others learn more and continue the conversation below #19for20

You guys! My boo @jake.borelli is here this week for a slight departure from our usual programming, but one that is no less important! We’re gonna discuss the acronym LGBTQIA+. It’s crucial to understand what these letters stand for and why it’s important to honor them. Jake and I will be going LIVE on Thursday at 5pm PST to talk more about this! Can’t wait to see him and have a chat about this topic with him and YOU! And check out his resources below!!!
From Jake:
A closer look at the LGBTQIA+ Community, term by term, for this weeks #19for20! 💕🌈✨ The Queer Community is made up of SO many different types of people who have so many different lived experiences. Hopefully this chat will give you a better understanding of all the wonderful and nuanced people in our lives, and give you better tools to truly listen and respect the way people define and express themselves 🙂
LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU.
