Our little bundle of joy, Luca Shaan Langella, made his perfect entrance into the world on May 27th, 2021! Mommy and Daddy are doing great and are so madly in love with our sweet little bean burrito 👶🏻 Can’t get enough of his little gurgles, cuddles and animated facial expressions 🥰! He is a happy, healthy boy and looks just like his dad, but with mom’s nose and hair 🤗. Luca bear, you’ve filled our lives with indescribable joy (and sleepless nights for now 😅), and you truly are the “giver of light”! Wish we could keep you this little forever!
Had the most amazing care throughout my whole pregnancy, and the best Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nurses at @providenceoregon who looked after me so well during my hospital stay.
I could not have had as calm and pleasant experience without @joe.langella, who is the best daddy already and gave me so much strength and encouragement through my pregnancy and is continuing to love and pamper me to no end (and making sure mommy gets the best nutrition!)
Great to have my mom here with me just in time for my delivery and allowing us to catch up on sleep while Luca gets precious Nini time 🙂 Can’t wait for the rest of the family and friends to meet the little man!!

As I officially enter my third trimester, I’m definitely feeling the dramatic shift in hormones (goodbye 2nd trimester energy), so am listening to my body and trying not to push myself…..although I am in FULL fledged nesting mode and trying to get the home ready for baby and visits from family this summer! So much to get done yet.

The proposal was absolutely perfect. Joe tricked me into thinking we were going to go see a house for sale, but instead drove us straight past the house, up to the most picturesque spot in all of Portland, Council Crest. From the top of the hill, one can see five mountains in the Cascade Range: Mt Hood, Mt St Helens, Mt Adams, Mt Jefferson, and Mt Rainier, in addition to fantastic 180-degree views of the city and surrounding towns.
It was a remarkably clear day (rare for the Pacific Northwest), not a cloud in the sky, but a little chilly. I was shivering so Joe gave me a giant bear hug and dropped to one knee with a beautiful ring he picked out, asking me to marry him! I giggled, cried, continued shivering and said YES! while onlookers watched and clapped, and our dear friend Kim, disguised behind a bush, captured the moments perfectly on camera. We celebrated that evening with our closest PDX buddies over a celebratory dinner at our favorite restaurant. We couldn’t wait to get married within the year!

Happy Valentine’s Day to my forever Valentine! Another special one in the books for us….a candle-lit dinner, not by choice but circumstance since we lost power (along with 300,000 others in the Portland Metro!)!
Joe’s resourcefulness came to the rescue (as usual…literally would only trust him to be able to survive an apocalypse) with his camping and fishing gear- he finished up cooking our dinner (filet mignon and skillet rosemary potatoes) on his portable propane stove (that I got him this last Christmas!!) with his headlamp on 😂 and I made an accidentally perfect flourless chocolate cake that ended up steam-baking in the oven! 🍴🌹
Devices currently charging on his giant battery pack he uses for his fishing raft motor 😅
Bundled up at home and nowhere to go (except maybe Home Depot to get a flashlight and batteries) as the temperatures keep dropping in this crazy winter/ice storm that hit us!!
