Amor Fati is Latin for “love of fate” or “love of one’s fate”. It is used to describe an attitude in which one sees everything that happens in one’s life, including suffering and loss, as good or, at the very least, necessary. This is one of the principles of Stoic philosophy

According to Stoicism’s teachings, as social beings, the path to eudaimonia (happiness, or blessedness) is found in accepting the moment as it presents itself, by not allowing oneself to be controlled by the desire for pleasure or by the fear of pain, by using one’s mind to understand the world and to do one’s part in nature’s plan, and by working together and treating others fairly and justly.

Set backs, rejection, failure and pain are all necessary parts of the dance of life. Because of my Amor Fati practice, I no longer ask “Why is this happening?” or “How could this happen to me?”. Now I wonder “What is this teaching me?” or “How can I learn from this?”.
