Can’t cook. Don’t have his green eyes. Have never raced professionally. Or known the first thing about aeronautical engineering…The apple fell far from the tree. But what a time it had luxuriating in the tree’s shelter of limitless love. #HappyFathersDay

How to get to the top of the rankings without bowling a single ball. @patcummins30 Salute.
Recorded an audiobook for @storytel.in today. It’s a lovely story. Witty, sardonic, wonderfully written (and translated). Watch this space. #audiobook #storiestohear #mouthtoear

Not the best images, but the best I could get off the net. This is a tribute to #BuddhadevDasgupta who passed away today. Mithunda and I made ‘Kaalpurush’ with him – one of my most satisfying films (and performances) of my career. Buddhada was part poet, part filmmaker. You could see that in the way he approached cinema, in the stories he wrote, the way his movies were photographed, his use of sound. Working on ‘Kaalpurush’ was challenging, engrossing. It was a delicate film with tenderness and depth running through it like two best friends. It took time for me to understand Buddhada’s style of direction. But once we understood each other the relationship flowed with ease. Sensitive, emotionally acute, with an impish sense of humour, we gradually got to know the other better. But more than the filming of ‘Kaalpurush’ what I will miss more is evenings spent with him during shooting, at film festivals – in Kolkata, Bombay, Berlin, Toronto. Eating, drinking, walking new streets, talking, sharing ideas and always laughing, his sense of humour always ready to bubble out in a conversation. It’s a cliche when people pass away that we say – ‘he / she / they will be missed’. But for those who truly love cinema these words will never be truer than now. My thoughts and wishes go out to his family and loved ones.

Thank you, Arti @rfhospital . Thank you to the staff and doctors at the Sir H.N. Reliance Hospital. Impeccably organised. #Day85 #seconddose #Covishield #doneanddusted
Two great captains, two wonderful teams. A fantastic advertisement for test cricket. Played with great spirit and competitiveness, sans rancour and sledging. Congratulations @blackcapsnz , you deserve every bit of the glory. #WorldTestChampionship @virat.kohli @kane_s_w
I could not agree more. A wonderful test where physical skill, mental tenacity and the will to shine, were on ample display. A fifth day would have been gripping. #EngVInd @bcciwomen

Out shopping after yonks. One of those crystal clear days in the metrop. #goodtobeout
Slightly speeded up version of my actual pace. #swimtoshore
Had posted this exactly six months ago. Now, on the threshold of the drive to vaccinate all, it bears repeating. Fingers crossed.
At the halfway mark. One of my favourite training spots on earth. #literallywindsprints
Happy place. #swim #sun #siesta
If only all my sprints were this dramatic. This, from yesterday. #apocalyptic #japaneseepic #runningnoir
Talk about throwbacks. On this day with precisely nothing to do and nowhere to go, my friend and former captain of the Indian Rugby team (and now the CEO of @rugbyindia ), #NasserHussain has sent me these clippings of our games for the #BombayGymkhana rugby team. Makes me yearn to get back on the field. Soon. Thanks, Nas. Your name is now first (outside the family) in my will. #rugby #thegreatestteacher #prideandjoy #newspapernostalgia
