Why is being #imperfectlyperfect is so important to me? Because in this picture the smile I had to put up behind the pain of feeling so bad about myself and my body was so difficult to bear it broke me as a woman. Overnight I felt I failed myself , I was unrecognisable and lost . Today I have come a long way from this 2015 picture , still reminding myself everyday how loving myself is so important irrespective of standards expected and I keep speaking so that anyone feeling the same should know that it’s ok and you are not alone . Especially as a mother after giving birth instead of celebrating the joy of my first child, all I did was silently go day to day just trying to make it through without a breakdown . But I did break .. many times and it led me to where I am today . Self acceptance Self love and being very clear with what I will let affect me . I am still a work in progress and with Nyra I was much better with the way I handled my emotions and hormonal changes . Sassy Saasu ‘s Gujju Ghughra Is the Gujarati answer to the Punjabi Samosa! And it is so easy , tasty and yummy with fresh green peas 🌱and coconut 🥥 I can’t tell how these mouth watering bites are just divine ! I am on my diet and she lovvvvesss her fried food 😋 especially on rainy days ☔️ but I secretly really enjoyed eating this treat ! Hope you enjoy making them !
1/2 kg green peas
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/4 cup chopped coriander
2/4 green chillies finely chopped
1 teaspoon jeera powder
Salt to taste
Place the shelled , raw peas into a mixer and coarse grind them.
Remove and add all ingredients.
1 large cup wheat flour
Two tablespoons rawa
4 tablespoons ghee or oil
Water to bind
Mix the above and bind a medium hard dough and keep aside.
Make small rounds of the dough. Roll out small puris. Take each round, fill well with peas mixture and seal and fold into a design. You can cut with design cutters available in the market.
Drop into hot oil and reduce heat. Deep fry in medium hot oil and crisp.
Serve and eat hot with green chutney, sweet chutney and ketchup. Enjoy 🎉
