We have only hours to try and get Texas Governor Greg Abbott to grant a 30 day Stay of Execution so that Quintin's legal team can continue the work of trying to save his life. He, and tens of thousands of people across the country, are pleading for a reduction in his sentence, from death to life in prison. Yesterday the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles voted against granting him this clemency. In 2018, the board recommended such clemency for Thomas Whitaker, a white man, who's plea for clemency was very similar to Quin's, who is Black. This raises concerns that the Board's decision was racially biased, warranting an investigation into their process. Ways you can help: Call the Governor's office and ask he grant the 30 day stay using the numbers at gov.texas.gov/contact Tag @govabbott and ask he grant the 30 day stay, use the hashtag #savequintinjones Raise awareness by sharing this post and info Sign the petition at bit.ly/savequin Learn more about Quintin's case at clemencyforquin.com link in bio

Sarah Paulson Instagram – A group of students at CUNY Law created this fund to provide monetary support to Black 2021 graduates.

CUNY School of Law is a public interest law school, which means that most of if not all of these students will go on to lawyer in the interest of racial justice and social justice.

For people who may not know, only about 5% of lawyers in the U.S. are Black. Structural barriers are in place keep certain people out of the profession. Support funds like this one help to chip away at these types of racial and economic inequalities.

This is also a uniquely challenging time for these students. Their campus community is currently healing from a pattern of anti-Black harm on campus. At the same time, Black members of the campus community are grieving due to the recent racist police killings and because we’re living through a pandemic that has disproportionately impacted and taken the lives of Black people.
