After a long sweet break from social media while we were in my beloved Sweden, I’m back here with my latest obsession. Malou❤️. My LouMoo❤️. My little niece and my new big love. Brought to this world by one of my top top favorite humans, she is so new and yet she’s always been in my heart. My sis @lisafuxler is a warrior woman who moved through the journey of labor and birth with an insane amount of grace, power and love. I’m in awe. Her partner Fredrik was a super star with complete presence and endless support. This wonderful little girl picked two really really good ones to guide her in her life. I can’t wait to be her cool aunt and teach her the weird and witchy ways of life, oh this is going to be soooo fun!!! I love you deep and true my sweet Malou!!! ❤️

Out of all the pictures I could’ve chosen for her birthday, this is the one that feels the most like Maiya, the most like Us. She’s looking at me in this picture and this is a look I am blessed to be the receiver of quite often. She turns around to make sure that I’m there, then she smiles with that Maiya twinkle in her eyes and doesn’t say a word. Just a look, one that she’s been giving me since she was a baby. A look that shows how she dwells in a space of pure magic and wonder, and sometimes she chooses to take me with her. How lucky @justinbaldoni and I are that she chose us to be her safe place and guides in her life. A huge reason for my journey of self discovery is so that I can better guide her for as long as I possibly can, until she surpasses my knowledge and “wokeness” by miles.
You’re my little spiritual gangster Maiya and I know the world will continue to be a thousand times more colorful, truthful, and deliciously wild because you’re in it. HAPPY SIX my MaiyaPapaya!

The mountains called, and we listened.
This was a bittersweet goodbye.
Goodbyes have always been hard for us. Whether they are with people, seasons, jobs, places…and regardless of whatever good comes after, the goodbye is still hard.
Buying this house, taking it down to the studs and rebuilding it into our dream home was such an incredible, stressful, and fulfilling process. The past few years we have had the privilege of filling this place with love, loved ones, laughter, tears, really big moments, and all those really little moments that mean the most.
Now on to another adventure, with less traffic and a lot more nature.
Ojai…here we come.

This is the kind of healing work that helps me remember how powerful and wise my body is. When I learn to listen to it and let it do what it’s capable of doing, there is tremendous healing and guidance. And when we also tap into what’s beyond the 3D reality there’s not only healing, there’s pure magic ✨
I believe that connecting to who we truly are, beyond our cultural conditioning and beliefs, is what will actually transform humanity. To be on a journey of self discovery and healing, elevating our energy and consciousness, living an authentic life infused with meaning and service, are the actions most needed to impact the collective, and in my opinion the most important kind of activism ❤️

Something I love and admire the most in people is when they walk their talk. We all stumble and fall, but it’s deeply impressing and inspiring when people get back up and continue the walk no matter what. I see my husband do this, each and every day. His commitment to authenticity, healing and learning has taken him on a deep dive into his own masculinity and humanity and he is sharing all the most profound, brutally honest, awkward, confronting and rewarding experiences and reflections with you in this book. On this #earthday we decided to take a morning hike. We thought these photos sum up the heartbreak of what we are doing to our planet.
Just behind a gorgeous lookout lies a hideous oil well. Forcefully penetrating the earth and taking from it over and over again. If you look closely behind us you’ll also notice that the trees have black bark on them. Slowly recovering from the devastating #thomasfire a few years ago.
This year in Southern California we are seeing unprecedented low levels of rain which is terrifying for coming fire season which the local fire department told us yesterday now lasts pretty much all year.
And unfortunately, these are just a few examples of how we are knowingly continuing to destroy our beautiful home.
If we want to have anything left of our planet to give to our children and grandchildren, we must work together and listen to the 97% of scientists who remind us that climate change is real. It’s not a hoax or some government conspiracy. It’s caused by us, but the good news is that it can also be fixed by us. Much of the damage can’t be undone, but we DO hold the power to reverse a lot of it. First we must come together and acknowledge the role we ALL play in it.

Bahai’s all over the world just finished our intense 19 day period of fasting and today begins the first day of the Spiritual spring (our new year) which is one of nine holy days in our faith. It’s also a Saturday as Maxwell points out 😉. Basically it’s a day of family and food and food and food and food.

There is an unseen sweetness
in the stomach’s emptiness.
We are lutes.

Happy Ayyám-i-Há!
(Pronounced A – Yammi- Ha)
Every year Bahai’s around the world celebrate Ayyám-i-Há which is a 4-5 day period (depending on the spring equinox) filled with joy, family,
gift giving, service and charity.
These five days for us are some of the most joyful and fun days of the year (especially for the kids) and they prepare us for the Baha’i fast which starts this coming week (I’ll post more on that soon).
For now, To all my Baha’i sisters and brothers around the world, and to anyone reading this- may your day be filled with love, joy, laughter and may you then take that love and pass it onto someone…anyone in your life!

Last year a friend shared a gut wrenching post that has stayed with me. She wrote about the moment her prayers for her beautiful Black sons changed. The moment when they got old enough for the world to not see them as “cute” anymore. When they began to be seen as a threat. Too loud. Too aggressive. She shared how she has to do this mind trick whenever they share a tender moment to erase her fear that they will be destroyed by racism. She shared how every time she sees a black kid and youth walking in her neighborhood she will shower them with prayers that they will be protected and get home safely. I realized then that I had never seen a black child or youth and showered them in prayers even though I’m aware of their reality. My white privilege allows me the luxury to just dip my toes in. The kind of luxury where one can “care” and be “concerned” and then call it a day and disconnect from it until next time.
It is NOT the job of the Black community to fix anything, but I’m immensely grateful for the insight so many of you have given me. I have so much gratitude for my friend who asked me not to share her post, but instead reflect deeper and share what I find. I know many white mamas follow me here, and I know many of you 100% agree that all children are worthy of a great childhood and to feel safe and free and worthy and to have their parents around, alive and thriving. Many of us have had much needed reality checks in the last year, but are we still learning and truly listening? Are we expanding our awareness and reflections? Are we willing yet to be brutally honest about our white privilege and our role in racism? Have we made changes that we keep building on? Are we reaching out? Are we supporting Black owned businesses and organizations? Are we making changes in our own businesses? Are we talking to our kids about racism? Do we expose them to media that portrays doctors, scientists, teachers etc that are people of color? Are we doing better?
One action you can take right now is go to my stories and find out how you can help Daunte Wright’s girlfriend and son. And then do it ❤️
