A lifetime of rape & sexual servitude awaits unmarried girls in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s control over the region.

Afghans pouring into Kabul and those still in Taliban-held areas say they have witnessed Taliban commanders demand that communities turn over unmarried girls and women to become “wives” for their fighters—a form of sexual violence.

Last month, reports emerged that fighters had ordered imams and tribal elders to prepare lists of all women aged 15 to 45 who were unmarried or widowed so they could be “married” to their fighters.

But that has now extended down to girls as young as 12, according to witnesses.
