Are you part of this family or not? #Succession returns this fall on @HBOMax.
My new pal….
This is an unusual post but two days ago my great friend Brian Dennehy passed. Brian was one of the most generous and kind hearted people ever. Of course… he could be a Curmudgeon…but such a beautiful Curmudgeon. As an actor he was one of the true greats EVER. His Generosity was boundless. I first met him when I was doing the play “ Rat in the skull” at the Public Theatre in NYC. Brian came to the performance on more occasions than I could count. At the same time he was in discussion with Michael Mann about playing this crazy Psychiatrist in Mann’s upcoming film “ Manhunter.” Brian told Michael that as far as he was concerned there was only one person to play that role: “Brian Cox.” From then on he would joke that I had stolen his career. This act of largesse was so typical of who Brian was. Immensely caring and loving, he very much inspired love in return. As it soon will be Shakespeare’s birthday, I dedicate this Sonnet to Brian. Travel well, my friend #briandennehy #rip #truefriend #briancox #timetoactchallenge
Where did the title of my upcoming book come from you ask? #PuttingtheRabbitintheHat @quercusbooks

The historic opening of the V&A in Dundee. Which I was most proud to attend. For a Dundonian like myself an incredibly moving experience. My hometown has had so many ups and downs in my lifetime. The opening of this museum means that new era of hope has arrived! And that the Dundee folk can now perhaps celebrate a new spirit of liberation. And the trials and tribulations the city has experienced can now begin to recede!
An incredibly proud day in the life of my hometown. The opening of The V&A in Dundee. A city that has made more than its shares of ups and downs during and beyond my lifetime. This is the most generous and exquisite space created by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The most striking aspect of his design is the sheer generosity of its interior with its incredible openness of space, which for me symbolizes the openness of the Dundee folk. I found the whole experience surprisingly moving. To witness my hometown emerge as the city of creative endeavor for the 21st century. That said, and because of the checkered history and inflictions the town and it’s inhabitants have suffered, hopefully this moment in time will lead to the liberation of the hearts and souls of the citizens of my beloved city. They need and deserve it.
The Apocalypse is near and final judgement is set to descend upon humanity. The armies of good and evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising and I will be the voice of Death!
