Brian Cox Instagram – An incredibly proud day in the life of my hometown. The opening of The V&A in Dundee.
A city that has made more than its shares of ups and downs during and beyond my lifetime. This is the most generous and exquisite space created by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma. The most striking aspect of his design is the sheer generosity of its interior with its incredible openness of space, which for me symbolizes the openness of the Dundee folk. I found the whole experience surprisingly moving. To witness my hometown emerge as the city of creative endeavor for the 21st century. That said, and because of the checkered history and inflictions the town and it’s inhabitants have suffered, hopefully this moment in time will lead to the liberation of the hearts and souls of the citizens of my beloved city.
