Bumped into my friend @daddydarkrdc in my hotel lobby in San Diego and he made my day. This man is an inspiration and mentor to many and a shining example of how one can contribute to their community leading by example with humility, generosity and empathy. The Montford Point Marines were the first African-Americans allowed to enlist in the US Marine Corps, in 1942. They were not allowed to train with the white marines and instead trained at the segregated Camp Montford Point in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
