The Oak tree I loved as a child I’m trying to recall when it was that I first developed a love for trees. Certainly, as a child I spent a lot of time climbing and hugging them. It was an innate love I suppose, and even at the age of nine or ten, I may have been tapping into my Celtic roots, if that’s not too much of a play on words!!! In general, we do not endorse social media. Since 1998, the unregulated era of technology has all but decimated traditional media, which we feel is more accountable to a civil society. We’re also learning that digital technologies are responsible for 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, a figure expected to double by 2025. We therefore plan to continue advocating for a responsible and accountable media in whatever form that may take. In the meantime, we encourage you to stay in touch through the closest and most direct method possible, our email list. SUBSCRIBE FROM BIO LINK @loreenamckennitt #LMCommunityNewsletter

Hossam Ramzy, who joined other special guest musicians for Loreena’s performance and subsequent live recording at Royal Albert Hall, died on September 11th. His collaboration with Loreena dates back to 1995 when she was recording A Winter Garden at Peter Gabriel’s @realworldstudios in England. At the time, Mr. Ramzy was part of the Jimmy Page and Robert Plant tour (of Led Zeppelin fame), which was taking a break. Those songs were later included in Loreena’s 2006 album A Midwinter Night’s Dream. Mr. Ramzy also performed in four songs on her 1997 The Book of Secrets, including the worldwide hit single ‘The Mummers’ Dance’. In 2006, he again joined Loreena for two numbers on her album An Ancient Muse. “Hossam was not only an incredibly gifted musician, he was a friend,” said Loreena. “He will be profoundly missed within the music world and among his many admiring friends and colleagues.” ….. 📸 @christiegoodwin 📍 Royal Albert Hall (London) 📆 March, 2019

Tapping into the talent of Robert Brian Robert Brian’s love of drumming began at the impressionable age of nine when he picked up his dad’s drumsticks and began hammering out a beat on his pillow. His late father, Ray Brian, a session drummer, naturally took his son’s interest to heart.
