Mary Steenburgen Instagram – So! This my Aunt Freda, recently celebrating a friend’s birthday. Everyone dressed in crazy clothes and she and her friend Peggy decided to wear bathing suits. That’s because she has a world class sense of humor, thought it would be funny, and is absolutely confident in every way. She is an incredible mother to my beautiful cousins and a grandmother and great grandmother. I have read books by some of the world’s great poets and thinkers but when I think of life goals and what truly inspires me, I think of her. She has had enough heartache to bring anyone to their knees but this smile is real and she gives it and her love with complete generosity. She is excited about her life! When I asked her if I could post this photo( taken a few days ago) she said, “ Yes, but Mary, be sure and tell them how old I am so that people can remember that they can have fun in their nineties!!!” Ok. My Aunt Freda is 96.
