When @raamkumar.r and Janki got matching bald heads, I just had to run over and do a quick daddy-daughter shoot. The relationship that these two share stems from how involved Raam is as a parent and how he evolved as a person after becoming a parent. Of course, Sruthi suffers no ”parenting-tourism”. 🤪
I think there should be more daddy shoots and other daddy-involvement things. So that like Raam here, more daddies don’t expect medals for being involved in raising their kids.

This picture is from a day in the past. The reason it emerges now is cos of this room on CH titled “parenting today: life before and after kids” moderated by the amazing @trippingmommy . So that room got me thinking and took me back to those days.
So what all has changed after janki.
1) my priorities . To the extent I have no idea who that girl you see in the picture is . She is gone . Disappeared . Poof!!
2) my body . Pregnancy does so much to a woman’s body, I don’t know where to start . And finally re claiming it and taking charge of the whole process to go down the route of fitness is CRAZY to say the least . And of course to do that with a toddler, no help, and a pandemic to deal with is a story for later.
3) my cleanliness OCD . If you are a parent, you know exactly what I’m talking about .
4) my choices of what I feed my family and myself, what we use, how much we use what we use, what we wear etc etc. . I’ve always been conscious of my choices, but now we’ve just upped that 20 notches. Becoming a parent does that to you .
And lastly …
5) my dear partner @raamkumar.r . The changes I see in him is huuuge . More responsible, more proactive, more patient , and so much love in those eyes … all for her .
The reason I share this with you all is just to put one thing out there to all expecting parents and to those who someday want to have kids. Life will completely change after you’ve had your child. It is not gonna be the same at all, and it is upto us to make sure we make the best of it. No Google, no aunty, no grandmother can prepare you or help you through this ride. It is going to be unique and personal. So take it in your stride and keep all those advices at bay – unless of course you want it .

A man I met as the executive producer of a film I did . Of course, he was Gopi Sir then . A stickler for time, impeccably dressed, ever smiling, die hard lover of films and anything filmy … His smile was always infectious . From there to this day where my daughter fondly calls him Gopi thatha … and I Gopi pa – cos that’s what he is to me now … a father figure and his wonderful better half, a mommy figure @rajeegopi

Hearing such devastating stories of COVID +ve pregnant women and young mothers searching high and low for beds.
There was a case where a mother to a 5 days old baby, was severely bleeding, and moving from one hospital to another looking for an ICU bed . She did finally find one thanks to some volunteers who are doing a FANTASTIC job tirelessly and selflessly helping people ..
Praying for her and all the loved ones out there who are fighting this war with every bit of their being .
Having said that, the @ncwindia has opened its doors to personally take up cases of pregnant women and young mothers . Do contact them if you know any such case .
