I used to hate auditions when I started, it triggers anxieties in most actors and it certainly showed for me on screen.
Most outsiders in the field go through the process and it still happens in projects where the role is based on merit and how well the actor fits the role.
Nowadays I kind of enjoy auditions, and I feel like some of the best opportunities I got in ads & films were when I just had to compete with others based only on the audition, and not on popularity, politics or lineage.
So,in between running away from ghosts in #pizza3, riding horses in #ponniyinselvan and shooting a documentary, here are the moments of calm before I pressed record on a recent #Audition

As part of a project I’m working on, yesterday I went along with Mr.Sridhar of @inspirations_ngo He took me to meet Mr.Gajapathy and his family who cook and distribute food packets to the needy in light of the pandemic.
I also followed the young volunteers of the chennai corporation like @abi_the_thamizhan, Kamlesh in Shenoy Nagar who distributed essentials and provisions in that area.
I met many new people and it was beautiful to finally go out after the lockdown and meet the people who were instrumental in helping their communities. I wanted to share few photos from my day.Will share more soon as it comes together.

Yesterday @gracian.nalin and I met the #kadamaitrust team @keas_trust_40 . This ngo headed by Mr.Vasanthakumar pioneered the use of the auto ambulance during the second wave and attached oxygen tanks to autos for covid patients in their community. Truly amazing work that they did in strategizing and deploying resources for those who needed help.

Last week during the rains, @manavalanandco decided to design and paint this mural on our wall in between her other work.
I shot this over the 3 days she worked on this. When editing this I played different pieces of music as I worked; when I played @ashwini.koushikofficial Rendition of Raaja sirs ‘punnagai mannan’ theme the whole edit just came alive.
Amongst Raaja sir’s themes, Punnagai mannan has always been one of my favorites and since the original film was about a different type of creative field (dance) I thought it would be apt for this video.
P.S: while editing this, I also realized how fluidly his other works ( Jhonny, Aboorva Sagodhargal, and How to name it) fit and change mood of the exact same video. Genius! 🌸
