Loved dinner last night with my wife and brother and sister-in-law by the beach! We talked about love and life and sashimi. Lucky we are. And extremely appreciative to be with our closest of friends. @eattravelrock @caitlinskybound @johnstamos
I am so fortunate to be able to walk through this life with one of the best friends someone could wish for.
As anyone who’s fortunate enough to have him as a friend knows, John Mayer is a most caring, compassionate, clearest person— who loves giving back the love he receives.
And if you know him as someone that you deeply appreciate as an artist and person, what you feel from him is exactly who he is.
And he’s one of the few people that, on his birthday, I cannot get him a gift certificate for guitar lessons.
And not only brilliant, but funny AF.

Loved having the brilliant Michael McKean over the other day, to film his part in the documentary I’m making about the beloved Martin Mull. I had flashbacks I couldn’t control from “Lenny & Squiggy” to “Fernwood Tonight,” with Martin Mull, to Spinal Tap, to “Clue” with Martin Mull, to “A Mighty Wind,” to “Better Call Saul” … A wonderful, sweet, and amazing talent- Such a pleasure to hang and talk of comedy and his career, and of course, Martin’s. Can’t wait for you all to see this film.

What a lovely dinner last night my wife Kelly and I had with Norman and Lyn Lear. With their grandson, the brilliant Daniel LaPook, who was kind enough to take this picture. Lotsa laughs and love during a rare LA thunderstorm. Oh, and we had food too.
An incredible time spent with the one and only Tom Waits —the final subject to be filmed for the doc about Martin Mull I’m directing. To the right of Mr. Waits is our editor, Ron Haas, and to his right our Producer, Sean Bradley — My God, Tom is one amazing human beings, as well as one of the most gifted writers, actors, and musicians of my lifetime.
Loved filming a wonderful conversation with the eloquent @pattonoswalt yesterday as we finally come to completing shooting the Martin Mull doc I’ve been directing for many many months. Or is it years? We all love the brilliant comedy legend that is Mr. Mull.

This is Sharon Monsky, the Founder of the Scleroderma Research Foundation, and the reason I became involved with @srfcure – Today, she would have been 68, but sadly, we lost her to complications from scleroderma in 2002 at 48 years old. She was one of the best friends of my entire life and she is missed by her beautiful family and friends forever.
The Scleroderma Research Foundation will carry on her dreams to find a cure to this killer that also took my sister’s life —so that we can help all those affected.
This great woman moved mountains for research and for the SRF. I will dedicate my life as will our Board and Staff to fund the Research that will save lives. We are already helping fund the major centers of excellence that are right now helping us turn the corner to stop this horrible disease.
