A Takht or Takhata, means a throne or seat of authority. In Sikhism, there are five takhts, which are five gurudwaras, holding a very special significance for the community. The selfless acts of the gurus, make for the beautiful history behind them, and is the reason why they were honoured with the title, Takht. Here i am at the fifth one. The place where the tenth guru, Shri Guru Gobind Singh ji breathed his last and annouced the Guru Granth Sahib Ji as his successor, compiling the profound words of wisdom of all the ten gurus for us to follow. Learnings that we can apply in our daily life to become better versions of ourselves. The Sikhs built a room over the platform where Guru Gobind Singh Ji would sit while holding his court and installed Guru Granth Sahib Ji on it. They then honoured it with the title, Takhat Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib, Nanded.
The calm and self connection this place makes you feel, is something that cannot be expressed in words, but only felt. And as the saying goes, Knowing others is wisdom, knowing yourself is Enlightenment❤️
