Caught enjoying some rare downtime. I’m currently reading Stella Gibbons’ lesser known book, Starlight. Full of delightful eccentrics, it’s both delightful and gently heartbreaking. Have you read it? If not I highly recommend.

In all honesty, a week ago I couldn’t have told you who either of these men were. And this morning I woke up both broken hearted and so proud of those boys. This hug says everything I want to teach my kids about trying your best and failing and loving the effort not the result, about empathy and rising and falling together, not alone. I am still hoarse from yelling at a telly by the ocean, still English despite not being able to tell you who plays what, still homesick after all these years.
