Happy 9th anniversary of Dog with a Blog. What a wild ride. We premiered 9 years ago. I remember moving to LA with my mom. We put 3 months on the clock, then we’d move back to Atlanta, my hometown. We rented a place and slept on air mattresses – no furniture either! I auditioned for so many projects with no luck – BUT I walked away from every audition having learned something. 1% better every time. (That’s my secret to auditioning and handling rejection, thanks to my Mom) We were losing hope when out of the blue Disney came to me and had me read for what was then a show with a title I almost turned down. “Dog with a Blog”… really?! Okay, sure I’ll read for it. 🙄 4 years and 4 Emmy nominations later… it was totally worth it. Not to mention the incredible relationships, experience, and family I built from it. So cheers 🥂 to 9 years since the premiere of this wild show. And if you were wondering, I still visit Stan (mick) to this day. 🐶

25. 1/4 of a century! 🖤 If I had to choose one word to encompass the last 12 months and my recent trip around the sun … it would be learning. This past year has been about learning. Learning from my colleagues, learning from my peers, learning from my family, and learning from myself. 🖤 Learning translates to growing! I’m also grateful that I’ve stuck to some solid life health choices – like not drinking, eating a plant-based diet, practicing yoga, drinking 1 gallon of water/day, and prioritizing sleep. 🖤 The past year has also been about focus. Always remember, your focus becomes your reality. Where focus goes, energy flows. “Focus and simplicity… once you get there, you can move mountains” – Steve Jobs 🏔 So… happy birthday to me. I’m learning to love myself a little bit more everyday.

I remember every morning in third grade taking the stairs up to my home room. I think I was the only one who took the stairs. Except for this one kid Alex. We would walk up the stairs every morning together. Smart kid. Really good at golf. Alex added value to my life because he pushed me to be better. We had each other’s back at recess, too. Be selfish. But not in the way that hurts others. Be selfish in the pursuit of a greater good for yourself AND others. Don’t be afraid to say no to people.
