My dad is nothing like Josh’s dad in ep9 of #MrCorman. In creating the character of Josh, I started by changing some of the things in my life I felt most lucky for. In ep8 of #MrCorman, Josh records the recorder. Nathan Johnson and I would often collaborate on music for the show by sending videos back and forth to each other. He had written a part for the recorder, and I was learning it, but had a suggestion for a small change. So I sent this video to him. You can see how it turned out in the episode. (As well as ep10, semi-spoiler alert 🚨) @appletvplus

When I find myself in a darker moment, if I sit down and do something creative, I usually feel better. Here’s a short documentary about this we made on @HITRECORD — “Coping through Creativity,” in collaboration with @AppleTVPlus.
More than 809 artists from 51 countries contributed personal stories about how creativity has helped them through difficult times in their lives.
This is a big part of the story in #MrCorman as well. Josh (the character I play) is also someone who copes through creativity. He’s a musician, but at the beginning of the story, he hasn’t played in over a year. By the end of the season, he’s finding genuine joy and catharsis in it again.
