You can read the stunning #lettertozion by following the crowdfunder link in my bio, where you can also donate in support of Cephas’s launch of the Black British Network, which aims to create a fairer socio-economic landscape for the Black Community. The BBN is, in Cephas’s own words, “initially launching as an organising body which will allow black British professionals and the wider black community to have a united voice regarding business and economic advancement in the UK. In response to recent events, many companies have put out statements, action plans and manifestos indicating where they need to change and address a race or ‘diversity’ issue. The BBN wants to champion a more reflective response as opposed to a reactive one” #blackbritishnetwork #lettertozion
Will Poulter Instagram – Today is the first day of #blackhistorymonth There is no doubt that one of the most effective ways to establish long term change is to address the ways in which we are educated. In the UK, Black history is reduced to few subjects beyond slavery and oppression; meaning that the many contributions of Black Britons are overlooked and the history of Black people is severely underrepresented in our national curriculum. The government have a responsibility to every young person in this country to ensure that a more inclusive, accurate and honest version of history is taught at school.
