I’ve had to start and stop my pole journey so many times over the years for so many different reasons, but I seriously fall more and more in love every time. Sometimes I feel morbid because it is so insanely difficult and painful, and every time you stop , not only do you have to rebuild your strength, but you ALSO have to “re-deaden” the pain receptors in your skin! 😫 (I have permanent bruises on my torso from ripping/burning my skin during a stomach grip hold – not cute). Regardless, it’s truly such a beautiful sport. Pole has shown me strength, humility and grace. It has taught me that I can do so much than I think I can. It has helped me overcome fear and empowered me to take that mentality into the rest of my life. Basically, it has made me feel like a bada$$ b*tch….and you know what? That’s cuz I am. 💪❤️🔥 Okurrrrr (& blah blah yes this is a beginner, lowflow freestyle because I am still rebuilding)
Sorry I missed your call, waiting for Manchester Prep to lmk me if I passed the Cruel Intentions vibe check 🖤 📷 @maddiecordoba

The responses have been so beautiful & overwhelming, and I am so grateful 🙏🤍 I wanted to take a sec & share a little bit about the story behind the song… I initially got inspired to write “Love Me Like Me” because I wanted to create a song that could genuinely and authentically speak to my journey and act as a reminder to myself about the power we all have within. Although this is not a “sobriety song”, it came to be a few years after achieving sobriety and doing a lot of deep healing on many levels. “Feel it to heal it” became my favorite mantra, and I learned that self-love was the answer to so much of what I had been searching for all along. The first line of the song says “ I was wasting time looking for a feeling, I could never find til I started healing”, and I still get chills every time I hear it. Although I’ve always been super spiritual, focusing so much on healing the past few years has enabled me to become that much clearer. There are still storm clouds that pass through, but instead of living in a constantly dark and tumultuous place, I am able to see through the rain to find the silver linings and rainbows. 💦🌧🌈 I hope this song inspires anyone who needs it and lets them know they’re not alone. There is light and hope on the other side of darkness. I’ve survived so much – from being born with a very serious illness, to drug and alcohol addiction, to my best friend (& band member’s) death, my mom’s sudden death, and the list goes on. I say this not for pity but for inspiration. It is possible to overcome the worst of the worst. When we act as alchemists, we can turn pain into power, darkness into light, adversity into opportunity and fear into love. & If there’s one ultimate thing I’ve learned, it’s that when you let go of fear, all that’s left is love, and love is what heals ALL and creates true miracles. There is so much more to say and share, but I will leave this here for now. Thank you to everyone that made this song possible, with my biggest dose of gratitude going out to @lennonleppert for being the most perfect, divinely matched partner on this project. I am eternally grateful for you and everything you do.
