Andrew Gillum Instagram – Words can’t fully express the joy, pride, and love I experienced watching my baby sister (only girl of seven kids) take her oath as she was sworn in as a member of the BAR of the District of Columbia. Due to COVID policy she was able to take her oath in Tallahassee with my family around to celebrate her milestone. Not only did Monique graduate law school, prepare, take and pass the BAR; but she did so during my 2-year long campaign (which she was an instrumental part), the illness and passing of our grandmother, the death of our father, and a biking accident in NYC which left her with some short-term memory issues. But God 🙏🏾. Monique is the epitome of resilience and grace. Her love of people and her passion for finding justice for people to whom “justice” has been illusive. Tallahassee has been host to many swearing-ins for Monique and I, but no – doubt this one is the best yet. Eyes have not seen, ears not yet heard the impact that she will ultimately make on this earth. Onward always.
