I haven’t really spoken about my private life on Instagram much because it was going supremely well and a part of me was conditioned to think “well if I speak about it and people know how happy I am, and IF at all one day this ceases to exist, there’s gonna be so much that I’ll have to process and react to”. I now realise that had less to do with Instagram and more to do with me not living in the present. Karthik and I got married in his terrace- a simple ceremony with our families that officiated/conducted the wedding ceremony. Maybe sometime I will feel ready to talk about how beautiful, intimate and loving our friends and family made that day, for us.
But for now, I want to just let you all know I’m with my most favourite human being on Earth. My silly playmate @evamkarthik .
Thanks to @simplepicturesco , who have aptly captured our beautiful family of four, and the rest of our events, that I’ll share soon.
How can I forget who made these three events possible? @vizhamedai turned our terrace into such a beautiful frikkin dream for this ceremony ; the flowers, the chairs, the thoughtful vaazha kanu instead of a vaazha thaar at the front of the house, I could go on endlessly 🙂

I wanted us to forget that the rest of the world exists; while also knowing that at that instant, we were surrounded only by love.
At our party, I wanted to do what I do best – dance and have fun.
I wanted you to have fun too – even if you weren’t gonna have it dancing. I wanted us to unwind, tell ourselves we did a good job throwing the wedding, and let loose. I am so glad you are just as silly as I am, if not more. It just takes the right company (our lovely people) and some cake to bring your inner silly out. 😉

@evamkarthik and I thought, contemplated, insisted to our parents and arrived at this beautiful ceremony we invented for our wedding.
We wanted our friends and family to be the ones to officiate/conduct our wedding. Both sides of the family were introduced to each other – they spent time getting to know each other. Everyone felt included. Our babies Sky and Shadow had matching scarves. Paatis and Thathas were remembered. Childhood stories were shared. Poetry was recited. A Nigerian Wedding Ceremony tradition was incorporated where the bride and groom are hyped in a friendly fight between either sides. My heart melted at what our people spoke about us. There was love, all around. There was laughs and giggles and tears (even with the absence of a homa gundam😂) ♥️
It only seemed befitting that breakfast for everyone was ordered from our very own @sangeetharestaurantofficial 😂♥️
I wore my paati’s neli modhiram, Karthik’s mom’s kemp set from @sukra_jewellery , valaiyal I bought in pondy bazaar.
I was able to quite literally wear all of these with ease till the end of the day.
Looking at this picture I’m also getting reminded of Sekar Anna who showed me my sarees and Moorthy anna who did the end tassels (mudi potufying) at @nallisilksarees . 🙂
The beautiful thoranams and flowers all along the motta maadi parapet was so beautifully done by @vizhamedai , making our dream of an intimate terrace wedding come true!
