Carson Meyer Instagram – I recently met a man who told me he remembered his birth vividly. He could recall the shirt his father wore, his twin’s presence in the womb, bright lights, and the cold air hitting his skin like a thousand needles. His birth was difficult and sharing these memories with me forty years later brought up immense emotions in him.
Regardless of whether or not one can recall the experience of being born I believe that the memory is held deep in our subconscious, stored in our bodies, and the imprinting that takes place at birth contributes greatly to how we exist in the world. I believe that the way we approach birth as a culture is reflective of how we approach life. I hope one day we live in a world where every mother and child feels supported on their journey and empowered in their sovereignty.
Do you have explicit memory of your birth? Do you feel your birth informed your relationship to the world around you? | Posted on 04/Dec/2021 03:50:43
