Mrunal Thakur Instagram – First of all, I would like to thank the entire team at Vogue for giving me this honour. I cannot believe that something that I’ve grown up admiring is so close to me today. Growing up, I would always hide from my Maharashtrian parents and read Vogue, thinking that one day I want to be on the cover. To be standing her, receiving this award is not just a dream come true, but also an affirmation that if you dream and work towards your dream, nothing is impossible. Whenever I think of dreams, of the possibilities of fulfilling them, I’m reminded of a quote by Luptia Nyong’o, and I stand here as testimony to her quote. She said, “May this remind you that no matter where you come from, your dreams are valid.” I want to tell every young girl, from every small town that you may not have access to everything, but if you have the determination to be somewhere, and if you truly work for it, no one is going to stop you. Today, I accept and celebrate this award with not just the wonderful women in the industry that I look up to, but also with each one of you who loves me and gives me the courage to keep the fire burning. I have immense gratitude for that, and once again, for the entire team of Vogue India for thinking I was deserving of this award so early in my career. #VogueWOTY2021 @vogueindia @seruminstituteindia
