Sidney Poitier was a giant. Mr. Poitier brought honor to our profession that seldom deserves it. A shining light exemplifying the highest potential that art can bring: changing hearts and minds by exposing the evils of prejudice and hate, giving society an example of a better way to treat ALL human beings with the dignity, respect and love that all human beings deserve. Never expressing bitterness for the trials he surely faced, Poitier triumphed and rose above it and helped all of us to rise up with him. Much love… and eternal gratitude.
