Positive thinking doesn’t mean that you ignore life’s stressors. But it’s the way you handle them and how you react that can make a big difference. And I’ve found that being optimistic and surrounding yourself with people that uplift and encourage you allows you to manage stressful situations better.🙌

I am far from perfect and have my share of emotional ups and downs, but I consciously try to find ways to enable a positive environment in my life everyday. My husband and I adore spending time with each other but we always make sure to incorporate balance through “me time”, enjoying a hobby, a DIY spa day or working out. 🧖🏻♀️🧘🏻♀️ (pssst…the secret to a happy marriage and not drive each other crazy! 😉)

So much going on in the world right now, it’s hard to process.
The America we are living in today is far from great. I hope everyone can keep that in mind when they vote this year. There is a lot of work to be done. With or without a pandemic.
Hope everyone takes some time to reflect about privilege and equality and how we can all play a role in enabling a more loving, compassionate and empathetic environment. Those are the real pillars we need to build within ourselves to become human.

You don’t have to be Black to be outraged. Humankind is one.
Watching everything unfold over the past few weeks has left me with an extremely heavy heart. The killings of Breonna Taylor, Ahmad Arbery and George Floyd are part of a larger, horrifying problem in this country. When will it end? In 2020, it feels as though we are reversing as a society with systemic and institutional racism and inequality on the rise.
Being horrified is not enough. As a person of color in this country, it is our duty to support and stand up for our Black brothers and sisters. The only way society as a whole will truly advance is if you are actually doing something to stop history from repeating itself- and this can be done by consciously becoming more tolerant, removing your own biases and helping your loved ones do the same.
What can you do? Stand up and speak out against injustice. Be present. Talk to your racist loved ones. Educate and help your family and friends understand that being silent is not okay. Have the deeper conversations about privilege and racism in your own home. We need to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Stop being a bystander and call out racism when you see or hear it.
All humans are responsible for creating a compassionate, fair, equal and caring world. As a South Asian, I support and stand by the Black community.

My heart breaks for everyone in Ukraine, as well as those in Russia. I can’t begin to fathom the terror, but as a mother, all I can think about are the children. I am reminded of the privilege I have, and all I can do is show my support and solidarity with Ukraine.
It is so important to remember that there is a lot of misinformation being spread around this, especially in America. A reminder not to get lost in everything you hear and see from media propaganda, and to learn from reputable sources instead during this time. Listen to the voices of Ukrainians, as well as Russians…many of whom do not want this.
