Got an active or hyper “reactive” dog (as they say)? Mental and physical stimulation is the best way to sharpen their mind. After all, a tired dog is a good dog. Find ways to exercise their brains as well as their bodies! Got a tire you could use? You can even make it a fun play time with the family and attach your little kiddies to a sled and let your puppy pull them around. The possibilities are endless!
Working with easily excited pups or hyper active ones can be challenging. Weight pulling is a great way for you to bond with your dog. It especially helps over excited pups as it gives them needed exercise and a positive outlet for that extra energy! Dogs that participate in weight pulling normally are less prone to psychological issues, have fewer behavioral problems, and form a stronger bond with their humans!
I am so grateful to the folks at @frogstodogs for helping me to board and train my DODSON. He really is a special canine. I am overwhelmed with sadness that I have to leave him in the US because of Ontario’s unfair ban on #pitbull breeds. While I’m grateful that a place like Frogs To Dogs exists and they are able to help me out under these extraordinary circumstances, it’s not Dodson’s fault he was born a pitbull mix (Pitador). I stand by my truth that an unruly, aggressive or untrained dog is the responsibility of the owner, not the dog. I love you so much my, Loddy Doddy. I’ll miss you terribly while I’m gone. Hopefully Canada will continue to evaluate their laws. But in the meantime, I will continue to stand up and speak out on these unfair rules.

One of my greatest joys is spending time with my @mowgli.and.lola and rescuing/training dogs that need a #foreverhome. Meet Dodson. He’s a Labrador Retriever mix. He’s super smart and very playful. He just turned 1 year old and has a lot of love to offer.
One of my fun tips for training your dog is to give them mind stimulating activities. It stimulates/builds the brain, which helps them grow to be smarter dogs. It also brings them focus and it keeps them from destroying your home. Plus it’s great bonding time for you and your animal. He’s looking for a #forever home.
