Tomorrow! All generous paid subscribers to Exploding Giraffe will be able to listen in LIVE as I nervously record the debut episode of my new podcast-thing MATURE READERS with my favorite writer in comics (presuming Alan Moore is really retired), GARTH ENNIS, seen here belittling me for ordering a hazy IPA, probably. It’s all happening this Friday at 2pm Pacific/5pm Eastern. I realize that hour will be the middle of the workday for some of you employed-types, but come on, all of your colleagues are just watching March Madness anyway, so shut your (home) office door, grab an Anchor Steam or other Ennis-approved libation, and join us for an hour of hopefully not-too-awkward chitchat about comics, violence, sex, and Garth’s tireless defense of ALIEN 3. April Fools Day is a nightmare. Way back in 2006, Wizard Magazine commissioned the extraordinary @rodolfomigliari to do the above painting for a fake April Fools story about my supposed next project, a gritty mature readers update of Underdog, Hong Kong Phooey, and Yukk (?) called “Three Dog Night,” and I’ve been asked at least once a month when this thing is coming out for the last SIXTEEN FUCKING YEARS. Well, now I can finally reveal: it’s coming next April, 2023! Or not. Yeah, probably not. I think at least two thirds of these dogs have been cancelled, right? Anyway, gorgeous painting by Rodolfo!
