What an unforgettable week in our nation’s capitol. I’ve been to DC a few times before to advocate on behalf of music people but this trip felt extra productive. Big thanks to all the @recordingacademy members who sacrificed their time and came out to support our causes and our community! Also, thanks and respect to all the staff and leaders from both The Academy and our country’s government who bring their passion and dedication to make a positive difference in people lives all across our country. We may not all agree on what’s best, but I love and respect people who care enough to want to do the work and make things better. Finally, I don’t ever take for granted the unbelievable opportunities and truly spectacular people I am fortunate enough to get to experience in this photo dump or on any part of my life’s journey. #attitudeofgratitude

It was so hard to balance Sunday’s tragic loss with what should have been a time to rejoice. Overall thought, it was ultimately an amazing week of celebrating music. I was honored and humbled by the new people I got to meet and also reminded of how fortunate I am to have the long-standing friendships with people I love and respect.

April 2, ‘97, after having @treyball3 just a couple years prior, I was extremely excited to meet my new baby girl or boy. So excited and overwhelmed with emotion that just as you were being born, I actually passed clean out. I woke up on a gurney with the nurses holding my you and probably laughing at me. Ever since I got my first blurry look at you that day all those years ago, I have loved you with all my heart….and always will. Happy birthday Sissy!

Ok, so this is how we are doing it now?! Always good to be working thru the night in my favorite place. Hopefully we are making something that will bring people together is this time when there is so much isolation and discord.
So very proud and honored to be a part of this new and exciting initiative. We have big aspirations and some serious goals for the work we hope to do as well as for the future of the industry we love. RIP to one of the most important and influential people in my life’s journey. Coach Lute Olson impacted me in so many ways and I am so thankful for the countless lessons I learned during my time in his presence. A constant mentor and source of inspiration, he has impacted every aspect of my life and I will miss him! I love you Coach.
