Day 8: I shared this video 31 weeks ago to highlight the generous spirit of this sweet, camera shy, Afghan boy who was willing to share his sweet bread/Roht. Think of him when you see those images at the airport. As the media pulls away and political spin and finger pointing start. While you scramble to protect a political party, focus on the human cost of this ongoing proxy war. Understand what I mean when I say proxy wars. Think of this sweetness and all the kids like him whose innocence will be taken. Their lives will be the ones ruined. Don’t turn away. If you feel unsure of where to stand on it, then stand for the hearts and lives of the refugees left behind, fleeing w/ zero on their back that will need to find new homes in new lands. There are 1000s of Afghan citizens trying desperately to get somewhere safe with no way to board a plane. The @deptofdefense has control of the runway and I hear will be operating missions til August 31st per @potus instruction. But these are for people that worked with the the government. High risk women, artists, lgbtqi that don’t have the documentation can not escape this new terror regime and get to safety. Tomorrow night on @usofalcbs – Al delivers some goods for Ariana’s Afghan Refugee drive & then maybe some romance ❤️⚡️⚡️ After we shot the scene in this clip, production loaded all the new items purchased for the scene in the storage unit, onto some trucks and delivered it to @miryslist for their critical work in Southern California for Afghan refugees. Still so much work to be done, but thankful to be on a show that’s been engaging in acts like this. See you tomorrow night on @cbstv 830pm, next day on @paramountplus
