Courtney Henggeler Instagram – I wanted to be an actress ever since I first laid eyes on the TV show It’s A Living in the early 80’s. A show from what I can only assume was about sassy cocktail waitresses tackling life and big, frosty hair.
I didn’t know acting was a profession. And if we’re being totally honest I didn’t even know the word profession. Because I was 4 and my vocabulary was limited to “Apple juice” and “Jinkies Scoobs!”
But I knew I was mesmerized by what I saw on screen. The women on my TV were beautiful and funny. (Once again I can only assume. I don’t think It’s A Living’s humor was targeted at apple juice junkie 4 year olds) Whatever they were doing, I wanted in. And since that day I’ve been on this path that led me here.
Now that I write this I see my dream was probably closer to being a scantily clad cocktail waitress with large bangs. But I digress.
Today I made that 4 year old proud.
I mean she’d be a hell of a lot prouder if this role included black fishnets and a frilly apron.
But that’s why we don’t let 4 year olds into the workplace. | Posted on 03/Mar/2022 02:32:05
