My speech for @businesschicks in Adelaide all done, all books signed, happy snaps taken and every lovely audience member met (all of which meant standing in an excruciating pair of stupidly high heels for two and a half hours – my fault, no one elses’), OF COURSE I took my shoes off the first chance I could.
And of course that meant the moment I left the building, I’d get papp-ed… 👣
Here’s to the warm memory of two years of wearing trackies and sneakers… 😂
Mud bath anyone? Back from hols after a week of healthy food, fresh air, mountain walks, rockpool swims, new friends, lots of reading, no internet, yes, baking in mud, and even jumping off cliffs (ok, a small hillside) in QLD’s stunning Currumbin Valley. So good for the soul.
Thanks for a beautiful week @eden_health_retreat … although I really wish you hadn’t introduced me to those deadly-but-supposedly-healthy Choc Coconut Bounty Bars. I’m craving them already. Recipe please!!!

Camel rides at sunset on Cable Beach. I’ve certainly had worse days at the office… ❤️❤️❤️

With two of Aussie TV’s absolute finest at Pete’s book launch…the wonderful Steve Liebmann & Ray Martin. Honestly, sometimes I still pinch myself…
@2088steve @raymondgmartin @peter_fitzsimons
#sydneyoperahouse
And just like that, hubby @peter_fitzsimons’ brand new book on the extraordinary story behind the building of one of the most breathtakingly beautiful buildings on the planet, the Sydney Opera House, is launched…and it’s an absolute cracker!
The conception. The political in-fighting. The piece of fruit that inspired the design. The real story behind architect Jorn Utzon’s famed walk off mid-build and his refusal to ever return. The sex scandal. The broken lives. The triumphs. The tragic kidnapping & murder. Funny stories from behind the scenes as Queen Elizabeth launched this architectural icon on an impossibly windy day in October 1973…and so much more.
Available right now in all good bookstores, and I promise, you’re going to love it! ❤️❤️❤️📚🥂
PS. Love you to share any favourite memories you have of your own encounters with this exquisite building. Mine is my very first: one year after opening, in “Rocktober” 1974, when radio station 2SM put on a free concert IN the actual Concert Hall, with its bright neon pink and white chairs. It was the first time mum had ever let me catch a train to the city with my girlfriends. We lined up for hours with thousands of others, in our Lee jeans and cheesecloth tops, and somehow scored tickets. The bands on the card that day? First up, AC/DC still fronted by the legendary Bon Scott…and then the brilliant Stevie Wright from The Easybeats, now solo and with the number one single in the country “Evie, Parts One, Two and Three”, which from memory went for about 25 minutes that day. Together, they – and all of us screaming it out in the audience – just about blew the top of those beautiful, soaring white sails right off! (Evie, Evie, Evie let your hair hang down…) 🎤🎶🎼🎸🥁🤩⭐️🌟🥰

A very quick visit to Los Angeles for work (which includes what I know you’ll find a very surprising interview with @parishilton that you’ll see this Sunday on the Sunday Project), and in the process I’ve had a small bucket list moment ticked off – lunch at the iconic Ivy restaurant.
I first walked past this place on Robertson Boulevard back in the 80s, never daring to look in…but also never imagining just how darn pretty it is inside.
Swipe left for some of the most gorgeous garden roses you’ll ever see. Didn’t want to leave!
And yes, it was worth the 35 year wait…😋🌺

Oscars Red Carpet flashback to 2015.
Still the best shoes I’ve ever worn to an awards ceremony!
#oscars #oscarsredcarpet #flashback
So grateful my beautiful grandfather, William Charles Wilkinson made it back from the horrendous WW1 French battlefields of Villers Bretonneux, when so many did not…and not before surviving yet another battle – the 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic – and six months in a Plymouth, UK hospital.
But he made it through to marry his sweetheart Elsie, build their family home in Osborne St Wollongong…and despite all that he saw and experienced was, alongside my dad (their only child), the kindest, gentlest man I ever knew.
They were a special breed.
Lest we forget.

Thank you Brisbane and everyone who came along to the Brisbane Convention Centre this morning, for making me feel so incredibly welcome on the first stop of our @businesschicks “It Wasn’t Meant To Be Like This” book tour.
What an amazing audience you were! (And thanks for the great hug @schreuderilona)
Watch out Adelaide, we’re coming for you! 🎤❤️📚😊

Every 8 hours, an Australian woman dies from ovarian cancer. The symptoms are vague in the early stages – things like tiredness, bloating, constipation – and tragically most women are diagnosed too late. We need to change that!
Early detection is vital to save lives, but that research needs urgent funding.
For that reason I am so proud this year to be an ambassador for @witcheryfashion’s #whiteshirtcampaign in support of @ocrf
Witchery is donating 100% of gross proceeds from the sale of every one of these gorgeous @michaellosordo-designed white shirts to funding vital research into developing an early detection test.
Saving lives and the perfect white shirt. What a combo! Available in store & online right now.
Thank you. 🙏🌺😊👯♀️
Hey everyone, so excited to let you know that my book tour with the wonderful team from @businesschicks is FINALLY going ahead after a couple of false starts at the end of last year, courtesy of good old COVID.
We kick things off next week in beautiful Queensland!!
*BRISBANE: Tues, April 26.
*ADELAIDE: Wed, April 27.
*SYDNEY: Mon, May 2nd.
*MELBOURNE: Tues, May 10.
So, bring your girlfriends, your daughters, your colleagues, your sisters, your aunts, your neighbours, your book club mates, or even better still, why not bring your mum as a special Mother’s Day present.
I’ll be telling the stories BEHIND the stories in the book, the truth about some of the headlines you may have read in recent times, the many lessons I’ve learnt across the years, the people I’ve met, and why the book almost didn’t happen. And if you already have the book, please bring it along for me to sign, or you can purchase one on the day, and I’ll be signing those too.
All the Business Chicks events are at breakfast time, so once we’re done you can head off into the day having had a beautiful breakfast (not to mention some darn good coffee) which is of course included in the ticket price. And don’t be surprised if you also make a whole lot of new friends, because Business Chicks Breakfasts are just like that! 👯♀️
ALL THE LINKS TO BOOK YOUR TICKETS to all the cities are really easy to find in the linktree in my bio.
Look forward to hopefully meeting you on the day!!
And again, thank you to everyone who continues to send me messages, stop me in the street, and share their thoughts in book clubs around the country about how much the book has meant to them…you sincerely have no idea how much your feedback has, in turn, meant to me. Thank you. 🙏🌺❤️📚
PS. (Sadly, at this stage, we aren’t heading to Perth, but I have my fingers crossed that we may still be able to head there soon…let me know if you’re keen for it to happen!)
