Mom, I have no idea how you did what you did. You kept us both safe inside your heart. Thank you for sharing your strength and for all the sacrifices you made. I love you.

25 years ago yesterday, AMZN went public. As the Grateful Dead would say, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.”
It’s been far from smooth. Lots of risk-taking, lots of invention, lots of mistakes, so much we still have to do better. I wouldn’t trade the ride for anything.
Congrats to this morning’s new astronauts. @blueorigin

My dad is an intense, hard worker, and he’s also warm and teaches an easy smile and self-deprecating humor. My brother, sister and I could not have a better role model. We love him and are so proud of him for this well-deserved recognition from @statueellisfdn

“In every immigrant, you’ll find a deep optimism and deep resilience.”
In celebration of Miguel Bezos, Jeff Bezos shared a moving tribute to his father’s legacy at the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Awards. Jeff spoke of his father’s compassion and dedication, and honored his background as a young Cuban immigrant navigating a new country. Miguel’s story pays homage to all immigrants, including the millions that came through Ellis Island.

We must be better every day, and we know there is even more to do, but super proud of Amazon being ranked the #1 place where people want to work by LinkedIn. Their methodology uses LinkedIn’s unique data set from its 810 million members and evaluates many factors including the ability to advance, skills growth, company stability, external opportunity, company affinity, and gender diversity.
Thank you to each and every one of Amazon’s employees for all your hard work and dedication. It is Day 1.
We’ve just opened a second humanitarian aid hub to help Ukrainian refugees — this one in Poland. Like the first one we opened in Slovakia, it’s a fulfillment center dedicated to this issue, using our logistics and distribution experience to help.
The math doesn’t add up. Our current food and agricultural systems will not get us where we need to go.
By 2050, the world needs to be able to produce enough food to feed 10 billion people. As it stands, food is responsible for almost a third of global greenhouse gas emissions.
So how do we feed the world without compounding emissions?
We transform the agricultural and food systems we depend on – we evolve them to support life without further damaging the planet. We must make several transformations, including:
🐄 How we raise crops and livestock
✈️ Our agricultural supply chains
🥕 Our diets
The @BezosEarthFund is advancing these transformations through partners like the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT).
Earlier this year, we announced $17 million to support Future Seeds, CIAT’s state-of-the-art genebank in Cali, Colombia. Future Seeds is improving crops for higher yields, better nutrition and climate resilience.
To learn more about CIAT’s work to climate-proof and shock-proof global foods systems, follow @bioversityciat.

The scale of the climate crisis demands urgent action.
Tomorrow’s economy isn’t a choice between prosperity and the environment. Smart action on climate change and nature will make our economy more efficient, drive technological change, create better jobs, and help us live healthier, more productive lives. We aim to spark new opportunities, identify and clear roadblocks to progress, build powerful coalitions to accelerate change, and do so equitably.
This Earth Day and every day, we’ll work with grantee partners and peers to clear roadblocks to progress and build unstoppable coalitions to transform systems across our economy and society.
The climate crisis won’t be solved by a single country, a single company, a single person, or a single philanthropy. It will take all of us. And we can do it.

The staff of The Washington Post won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize public service medal for its coverage of the causes, costs and aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack, showing how the forces behind the siege are shaking the underpinnings of democracy.
The prize, considered journalism’s highest honor, recognizes the work of more than 100 journalists across The Post’s newsroom, many of whom contributed reporting from the Capitol grounds that day, as well as others who investigated the security failures that contributed to the events of Jan. 6, the human costs of the attack and the larger ramifications for the nation.
The resulting three-part series provided penetrating coverage of the failures that led to the attack and illustrated how the forces behind that assault remain potent and growing, undermining the faith many Americans have in the integrity of elections — and laying the groundwork for battles yet to come.
