Our new movie They-slash-Them from the one and only @Blumhouse is streaming August 5 on @PeacockTV Kevin Bacon plays Owen Whistler in this slasher horror film set at an LGBTQIA conversion camp. Several queer and trans campers join Whistler for a week of programming intended to “help them find a new sense of freedom”. As the camp’s methods become increasingly more psychologically unsettling, the campers must work together to protect themselves. When a mysterious killer starts claiming victims, things get even more dangerous. Theo Germaine (they/them) plays Jordan, a transgender and non-binary camper from a religious background who has made a deal with their parents to legally emancipate if attending Whistler doesn’t “work.” Quei Tann (she/her) plays Alexandria, a transgender woman whose parents have threatened to kick her out of the house if she didn’t attend the camp. Austin Crute (he/him) plays Toby, a gay camper who negotiated with his parents for a trip to New York in exchange for a week at Whistler Camp. Monique Kim (she/her) plays Veronica, a bisexual camper who wants to stop fighting who she really is. Anna Lore (she/her) plays Kim, a closeted lesbian camper who puts on a perfectly crafted front for her family and friends, assuming that when she fits in, she’ll finally be loved. Cooper Koch (he/him) plays Stu, a jock with aspirations of a swim scholarship and joining his father’s fraternity – things he doesn’t feel he can achieve if he’s open about being gay. Darwin del Fabro (he/him) plays Gabriel, a sensitive gay camper tired of the persistent name-calling and bullying he’s endured his entire life. They/Them marks three-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter John Logan’s (Skyfall, Gladiator, The Aviator) directorial debut. “I wanted to make a movie that celebrates queerness, with characters that I never saw when I was growing up. When people walk away from the movie, I hope they’re going to remember the incredible love that these kids have for each other and how that love needs to be protected and celebrated.” Photos by: @filmstring

How to survive Whistler Camp: be yourself and stick 🤝 together. #TheySlashThem from @Blumhouse streams August 5 on @peacocktv 🔪
What kind of clothing/pressure makes you feel safe? Here’s some of mine – having something around my rib cage and waist makes me feel so secure (and it also makes me feel hot). I have not worn a binder regularly in years, but it’s another article of clothing that helped me feel snuggly when I was younger 🔥 Leather: @toi.ano @naassene.studio @ugly.leather Photo: @williamrusan image description: Theo (a white nonbinary trans person) is standing outside at night on a semi-busy street. They are wearing form-fitting black clothing and fistfuls of leather gear – one harness that has straps going from their shoulders, to a horizontal strap around their rib cage. They also have a hip harness on with THICK thigh cuffs and a collar/cuff around their neck. They wear platform stompy boots and are playing with their hair with their right hand, stretching a lock up to its fullest height above their head. They have a distance/relaxed look on their face and are also sleepy.
Theo = 🥇• COVID = 🥈 • 🧠 image description: Theo (a white, nonbinary trans person) is making eye contact with the camera. They are wearing a pair of circumaural headphones because everything is too loud, and their very messy brown hair is tightly wound into the tiniest little nub on top of their head, held in place with a single bobby pin. They are wearing some heavy dark eyeliner and their left hand is holding a red lollipop up to their face, and the lollipop is partially in their mouth and they’re sort of sucking on it but it’s also just in their mouth. Their nails are painted cherry red and gold, and their black, long-sleeved shirt has a small, eye-shaped cut out/peeky slit, just below their collarbones. They also have a 10g captive bead septum ring in their nose. They have a deadpan expression on their face.
Image description: -1: an acrylic self potrait on a small, 6×6 store bought canvas, done in vibrant and rainy rainbow colors. The subject looks thoughtful, relaxed, or perhaps a little melancholy. They have stringy wet hair and a large septum ring in their nose. The portrait is not realistic, but more expressive/interpretive. -2: white text on black lettering that reads: “To love oneself is the beginning of a long romance.” -Oscar Wilde -3: white text on black background that reads: “Gender and sexuality are so fluid. It’s OK to change your mind a million times and figure out what works for you. It’s OK to take your time.” — Amandla Stenberg -4: white text on black background that reads: “Under this mask, another mask. I will never be finished removing all these faces.” ― Claude Cahun

A sweetness, a flower, and a tree 💖🌸🌳 Image description:: 1) William, a nonbinary/transfeminine Black and mixed race person, with short black hair, and perfectly groomed eyebrows, is standing in front of a big, droopy pine or evergreen tree that kind of looked like a pine tree-weeping willow hybrid. They, William, are smiling in a relaxed way, and they are also wearing a leather jacket with a black tee shirt with red lettering underneath. 2: a light pink spray rose (this may not be correct but I think it is this?) in frame, with a bush and some little bids behind it. The rose feels like it is smiling, and it smells good. 3: up close of a picture of a huge old tree, right after I gave it a big hug, with its huge pieces of bark and little vines growing up it. Big Green leaves at the top. This tree is so huge, it would take at least two adults to hug it all the way around. The bark felt really hard against my cheek when I pressed my face to it, it was very calming. Bonus: All photos have a filter over them that makes it look like everything is both sunny and overcast at the same time 🌞🌦🌥
