Today is International Scoliosis Awareness Day. I just wanted to share my scar and encourage anyone out there who’s gone through something similar to share theirs with me. Let’s be proud of our scars! I’d love to repost any of your images on my stories so please tag me and I will share. #internationalscoliosisawarenessday
The COVID 19 pandemic has been a difficult time for so many and I want to say a HUGE thank you to every frontline worker who have kept us all safe and well, whilst sacrificing so much.
In particular, I’d like to send an enormous thank you to all the teams who saved my father in law, George’s life during his stays at St Mary’s, Chelsea and Royal Brompton Hospital after he contracted the virus.
To quote George, ‘There was always somebody at hand. I want to offer profound thanks to everyone who was involved. It was a real eye-opener for somebody who has not been in hospital before for any length of time. I certainly owe them my life.’
I can’t begin to express the thanks I have to you all for bringing him back to our family, my husband Jack, his brother Tom and his beloved wife Nicola. We are forever grateful. ❤️ @imperialnhs @rbhcharity @chelwestft

Since 1865 the Salvation Army has been there with open doors to help so many people.
In the past few years I have witnessed first hand their dedication and hard work, so when they invited Jack and I to their newly created hub to pack boxes, we jumped at the chance.
As a group of volunteers we helped pack trolleys of food that are then taken and distributed to the Army’s hugely important and much needed food banks that feed thousands across the UK.
Their message is key – their doors are open, always have been and always will be. @salvationarmyuk

What a joy it was to officially open the new @horatiosgarden at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. This is their 5th garden in the UK connected to a spinal unit offering patients nature and the outdoors at a time they need it most. I’m a proud patron of this charity and it was a particularly special visit as it’s the hospital I underwent spinal surgery as a child.
It was an honour to meet all the volunteers, doctors, nurses, patients and gardeners who really bring this garden alive.
The final three pictures are of the lovely Jubilee Tree that was planted for The Queen’s Green Canopy @queensgreencanopy a wonderful celebration of the incredible jubilee milestone.

During these unprecedented times there have been so many incredible stories of people achieving amazing things in support of much needed charities.
Today, I wanted to highlight four inspirational men @theworldrun2020 who are in the midst of a 240 mile run from Liverpool to London, they are looking to complete in 8 days. That’s over a marathon a day!
They have taken on this mammoth challenge for a cause extremely close to my heart @jamesplaceuk James’ Place offers life-saving support for men in a suicidal crisis. Since their first centre opened in Liverpool in 2018, they have supported over 300 men in their darkest moments. These guys are now running in order to help fund the opening of the second James’ Place in Hackney, London.
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under the age of 50, access to the right support can change this.
I just wanted to give a massive shout out and hats off to these amazing guys for taking on this challenge and raising vital funds for James’ Place.
Beatrice and I joined a call with our charity @teenage_cancer to learn all about how young people have been coping with cancer during the pandemic.
We both had the honour to talk to such inspiring and courageous young people who are receiving treatment for cancer or who are shielding to protect themselves and their families.
What a truly remarkable group of people who have managed to get through this pandemic whilst suffering with cancer. We were also joined by some of the Teenage Cancer Trust team who support them on a daily basis.
Thank you for sharing your time and story with us. Your bravery is extraordinary.
My special day with @horatiosgarden at the hospital I was operated on with scoliosis as a child. What a day in the rain!
Bea and I were over the moon to present this years winners of the Teenage Cancer Trust Awards. @teenage_cancer
Every single one of the 9 winners are utterly incredible and have given so much to changing the lives of young people with cancer.
Enid Waterfall has been fundraising in her grandson, Richard’s name. He sadly died in 2018 after his fight with cancer but Enid has fought on to help others suffering from the same as her dear Richard.
Crystal Marshall developed a facial tumour at the age of 18. After lifesaving surgery that affected her appearance and knocked her confidence, Crystal decided to inspire others by appearing in TCT’s body image campaign and is now a role model for many others. We admire your courage.
Nicky Pettit has been a teenage and young adult nurse for 20 years. During the pandemic she was moved to an emergency Covid ward and was the link between families desperate for information and their loved ones.
Ron Smallwood and Alex Milas from The Truents and The Heavy Metal Truents a music industry collective that raises vital funds for TCT through international cycling challenges. They have raised hundreds of thousands and most recently held a virtual cycling fundraiser.
Alex Charlton was diagnosed with cancer and after struggling with losing his hair he decided to make it into a positive by inspiring his friends and family to shave their heads raising a huge amount of money for TCT. He was given the all clear by his doctors during the pandemic.
Julie Gonzalez is a youth support coordinator and since the pandemic has been working from home bringing happiness and laughter. She has brought her sessions online and is always there to support young people – especially those with palliative care.
Finally, Mike and Pascale O’Leary have been fundraising for TCT for 13 years and when the pandemic hit decided to start ‘Can you hear the people sing?’ which raised hundreds of thousands of pounds.
You are all totally remarkable people and I’m so grateful to have met you on zoom and hear all the incredible things you have done to change lives.
