Taryn Manning Instagram – Hey there for anyone who reads my sentiment. First off, being an actor is fantastic. Acting is so fun; acting is challenging and sometimes embarrassing; being an actor is painful too, especially when there aren’t rewards like praise, stability, or a paycheck. The life of an actor is a life accepted to uncertainty. It’s an act of bravery in every sense of the word, and no, we don’t all eat children, and I actually don’t appreciate being marginalized into a group of perhaps slim to none. Sometimes I can’t help but feel that it is just jealousy and envy speaking that says such Ludacris things about us. Most of my favorite actors are vegan, saving the lives of animals and charitable to animal welfare, or feeding the homeless weekly, never compromising one single week, saving the planet and the trees so we can breathe oxygen. We are people. We love you. Thank you for loving what we do. Like any industry, there may always be a “bad seed,” but I say this… the more complex, the bigger the addict, the more extraordinary the human, in my opinion. Anyway, but let it be known there is nothing to envy, really. If the goal is fame only, then let the subject suffer through the rejection and pain that that specific mind frame brings, but if the gift is of a true storyteller and one who can help tell the tale sincerely, then fame is just a symptom of talent, usually. For myself, I am writing this because I wanted to share with anyone who thinks I enjoy playing a-holes, awful mean people, as if I choose these roles deliberately. I do not. I have been stereotyped, typecast, pigeonholed, etc., etc And though I will not apologize for going all the way for any role I have been cast in because that’s my job, and I am truly grateful, I have also promised myself I can’t do those anymore. I no longer want to pretend to be racist, homophobic, intolerant, a bigot, a drug addict, suicidal, etc. I want to live! I did that! For over two decades, and thank you, Hollyhood. Honestly, until I came to Hollywood, I always thought I was rather cute; I always swung boys, gals – whatever, really. Reality check. You see the parts I get. I don’t believe them anymore. I just want peace for all within🕊
