Merry Christmas from my Shameless Family to yours 🎄
I usually don’t share many personal health details but I felt that it was important for me to share my situation to possibly help others. This weekend before going to play in a basketball tournament I started feeling sharp pains in my stomach on the lower right side. My mom is so awesome she immediately was concerned and took me to ER. After several hours of test and a CT scan we found out it was my appendix. Yes that fast with no warning an appendicitis attack! I had to have emergency surgery Saturday night and an overnight stay in the hospital. I am so thankful that we weren’t on the highway or in the middle of the game! I probably would have thought it was just a cramp. I’m sharing this to warn you not to take your health for granite and always let your parent or an adult know how you are feeling. I am so grateful for the communication I have with my mom. It was an appendicitis attack and we caught it early. I am feeling better and going to attempt to eat some of this food. I think mom might have did a little too much.🥰A special thank you to the ER staff, Doctors and nurses at @henrymayohosp ! They were all truly awesome. Thanks to those who contacted my mom and thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. Last month of 2021 is here, and my last goal of the year is to learn how to do a killer Ollie on the board. 🛹 What are your last 2021 goals ?
Update: First doctors follow up was a success. Next week follow up with my surgeon to see how long before I can get back to basketball. No scar and healing well. I have to drink lots of water and go for walks. I can’t stress enough how important it is to learn your body and when something doesn’t feel right let some one know. Don’t be afraid to do your own research. Parents listen to your kids when they tell you they are in pain. You would be surprised at the people that are telling me they wished their parents believed them when they told them they were in pain or wish they would have not waited to go to the hospital. Something so miner can go wrong and cause lost of pain and lead to worse.
